Scholarships

The Ukrainian American Club of Southwest Florida has created a $1000.00 scholarship for a North Port or Port Charlotte High School senior planning to pursue further studies at a college, university, or technical or professional school. An additional $250 award is given to the previous year recipient. Also, a $500 Ukrainian Student Award is given based on involvement in the Ukrainian Community and financial need.

One of the goals of The Ukrainian American Club of Southwest Florida is to encourage an interest in Ukrainian culture among the larger American public. In keeping with this goal, each scholarship applicant must write a 700 word essay on a Ukrainian theme.

The Ukrainian American Club was organized over 20 years ago, to encourage interest in Ukraine and its people. The Club's objectives are to provide an opportunity to learn about Ukrainian culture and to promote public interest in Ukrainian customs, history, arts and language.
